Covert picks up Mike Clore Three State Flyers main
Jason Covert picked up another win Friday night July 22, 2011 at Winchester Speedway claiming the 35 lap Three State Flyer Mike Clore Memorial.Front row starter Tony Crim would lead the first eight laps as Covert would make his move on lap nine for the lead. Covert leading the way had Roy Deese looking to make the move could could not make the pass. D.J. Myers had made his presence know as he had worked his way into third.With only one caution in this event Myersd and Deese could not make up any ground on Covert . Covert would cruise to victory with Deese second, Myers third, Jamie Lathroum coming home fourth from is eighteenth starting spot and Keith Jackson would round out the top five. Heats went to Deese, Crim and Dickson. The dash was won by Deese.
In the twenty lap Limited Late Model main John Painter and Terry Flaherty lead the field to the green with Flaherty taking the top spot. Flaherty would lead the first eight circuits as fourth starting Leon Lloyd made his presence know and took the top spot on lap nine moving Flaherty to second. Flaherty had to hold off a hard charging Dale Smith who made the pass on lap ten to take second and set his sights on Lloyd. Smith worked the top and bottom trying to make the move but could not. Lloyd would go onto take his first win, with Smith second, Ritter third, Flaherty fourth and rounding out the top five was Eaton.
In the 4 cylinder main event it was Mark Diggs picking up the win over Sonner. Allen Whitt Jr crossed third, fourth Randy Linaburg and fifth went to Tommy Whiit. The twenty lap Enduro main was won by Jamie Mills, Brandon Churchey crossed second, Mark Vegh third, Dustin Proctor fourth and rounding out the top five was Brian Green. The U-Car main event was won by Joey Strosnider, Austin Stover second, third Steve Faderly, fourth Josh Wilkins and fifth went to Steve Katz |
