Feathers make it a father & son night on Saturday May 29, 2010

 

Its was a father & son night at Winchester Speedway, Winchester VA on Saturday May 29,2010. Bo Feathers claimed the Gasoline Alley Late Model main, and Trevor Feathers picked up the win in The Eagle School Auto Parts Limited Late Model Division. Other winners included Mike Corbin, Robert Plaugher Sr, Mark Vegh and Marissa Layton.

 

Winchester VA’S Bo Feathers picked up the caution free  25 lap Gasoline Alley Late Model main event on Saturday May 29,2010 at the Winchester Speedway. Wesley Bonebrake would take the lead on lap one with Walter Crouch a close second. The duo would continue the battle for the first eight  circuits as sixth place starter Bo Feathers would make his bid for the lead on lap nine. Feathers made the pass and dominated the remaining seventeen circuits to pick up the win. Wesley Bonebrake would cross second, Crouch third, Armel fourth and rounding out the top five was Jonathan Dehaven. Heats for the fifteen cars went to Tony Crim and Bo Feathers.

 

Trevor Feathers picked up his third win of the season taking the checkered in The Eagle School Auto Parts Limited Late Model main event. Kris Eaton would take the lead on lap one with Bubby Tharp Jr glued to his bumper. The two battled for the first six circuits as Tharp would make the pass on lap seven moving Eaton to second. A hard charging Trevor Feathers made his presence known as he would take the top spot on lap eight. Feathers leading the way, would see Tharp and Eaton battling for the runner up spot. Eaton would take second but Tharp not giving up battled back on lap fourteen to take second and Eaton would have to settle for third. Crossing for fourth was Leon Lloyd and fifth went to Moe Harden. Heats for the sixteen cars went to Llyod and Eaton

 

Mike Corbin picked up his first win of the 2010 season in The Niningers Tire & Auto Parts Pure Stock main event. Front row starters Micheal Carter and Terry Staton would lead the field to the green with Carter taking the top spot. Staton and Corbin would battle for the runner up spot with Corbin taking it on lap three. Carter in control would see a hard charging Corbin get to the inside but could not make the pass. The two battled side by side for several circuits . Corbin working Carter hard would make the pass on lap thirteen and go onto take his first win of the season. Carter would cross second, third Staton, fourth Josh Williams and rounding out the top five was Mike Bennett.  Heats for the twenty-two cars went to Corbin and Buddy Wilson.

 

The Finish Line Auto U-Cars had twenty-four cars checked into the pit area for their main event and it was Robert Plaugher picking up his first win of the season. Brenda Alexander would cross second, third to Kevin Oates, fourth Sean Williams and rounding out the top five was Josh Wilkins. Heats went to Jeff Wilkins, Dave Alley and Sean Williams.

 

Eleven Enduro Dash cars checked into the pit area for their twenty-five lap main event and it was Mark Vegh picking up the win. Brian Green would cross second, Crazy Kenny Thomas third, fourth to Joe Rodgers and rounding out the top five was Brandon Churchey.

 

In the ten lap Cyclone main event it was Marissa Layton picking up the win over Dakota Layton. Third went to Alyssa Rowe, fourth Dalton Dillman and rounding out the top five was Jesse Micheal.

 

Winchester Speedway will set idle this coming Satuday June 5, 2010 and racing will resume on Monday Night June 7th with The Appalachian Speedweeks 50 lap Late Model event paying $5000 to win. Also on tap for the nights events will be the Pure Stocks and U-Cars.
