Davis, Feathers, Wilson, Sonner & Oates claim victories at Winchester Speedway on Saturday Night May 15th
The Saturday Night action at the Winchester Speedway, Winchester Va seen Gerald Davis pick up his first win of the 2010 season in The Gasoline Alley Late Models. Other winners were Trevor Feathers claiming the 40 lap Eagle School Auto Parts Late Models main, Buddy Wilson picking up his first win in The Ninigers Tire & Auto Parts Pure Stocks, Billy Sonner in The Dehaven Well Drilling 4 Cylinders and Kevin Oates in The Finish Line Auto U-cars.
In the Gasoline Alley Late Model main event seventeen cars took to the track for their twenty five lap main event. It was Gerald Davis and Walter Crouch bringing the field to the drop of the green flag. Davis took the top spot over Crouch with fifth place starter Feathers moving into second on lap two. Davis in control would see a caution fly on lap eleven to slow the field. On the restart Davis maintained the top spot with Feathers second and Crouch third. The trio remained the same with caution flying again on lap twenty-two to reset the field. Davis would lead the way for the remaining three laps to pick up his first win of the 2010 season. Feathers would cross second, Crouch third, Wesley Bonebrake fourth and rounding out the top five was Allan Brannon. Heats went to Wesley Bonebrake and Brad Omps.
The Eagle School Auto Parts seen Trevor Feathers pick up the 40 lap double points Spring Championship paying $1000 to win. Twenty Two cars checked into the pit area for the main and it was Moe Harden and Trevor Feathers leading the field to the drop of the green. Caution would fly on the start for Feathers who would be moved back two spots for jumping the start. Field now set with Harden and Flaherty on the front row would see another caution for the jump of Flaherty. The third start would see the green wave with Harden and Buckler on the front row. Harden would jump to the lead with Feathers glued to his bumper. The two battled side by side for the first sixteen laps with Feathers making the move on lap seventeen to take the top spot. Feathers in total control would cruise to his second victory of the 2010 season. Second would go to Harden, third Flaherty, Bubby Tharp Jr fourth and rounding out the top five was Lamb, Heats went to Kenny Moreland and Moe Harden.
Ninteen cars checked into the pit area for The fifteen lap Niningers Tire & Auto Parts Pure Stock main and it was Buddy Wilson picking up his first win of the 2010 season. Front row starters Donnie Kenney and Terry Staton lead the field to the green with Staton taking the top spot.Third place starter Wilson jumped to the runner up spot and set his sights on Staton. The two battled side by side until caution would fly on lap eight. The field ready to take the green would see Staton and Wilson leading the way. Staton in control would see a hard charging Wilson get beside him on the fourteenth lap to take the top spot to claim the win. Staton would cross second, Kaiser third, fourth Williams and rounding out the top five was Bennett. Heats went to Kerns and Gray.
The Dehaven Well Drilling 4 Cylinders had thirteen cars checked in for their fifteen lap main event and it was Billy Sonner picking up the win. Graham Smith and Cody Gray lead the field to the drop of the green with Gray leading the first lap. Scott McCartney would then take the top spot on lap two from Gray. Caution would fly on lap ten to reset the field. Mccartney leading the way, Gray second and twelth place starter Sonner was sitting third. Sonner would take the lead on lap eleven and go on to pick up the win. Second was Whitlock, third McCartney, fourth Gray and fifth went to Gageby. The heats went to Diggs and Gray.
The Finish Line Auto U-Cars seen thirty-two drivers checked in for their twenty lap double points Spring Championship. The twenty lap main that was filled with many cautions seen the checkered and yellow dropped with one lap remaining for a time limit. It was Kevin Oates picking up the win. Oates would take the top position on lap five and continue to lead the main. Crossing second was Jo Blomquist, third Nalevanko, fourth Plaugher Sr and rounding out the top five was Alexander. The heats went to Jo Blomquist, Edward Blomquist, and Nalevanko.
